The Rotary Club of Karori Inc. Wellington, New Zealand.

Helping In Our Community

Being a member of Rotary provides an opportunity to express the Rotary motto of "Service before Self" by contributing to the well being of our local Karori community.

Karori Rotary serves its community and youth by providing leadership and organising skills, people power, support, advice and financial assistance.

Larger projects have included the raising of funds to purchase a property for the Marsden Day Care Centre for people with dementia and taking the lead role for Wellington Rotary Clubs to build the Discovery Area at the Karori Wildlife Sanctuary. An annual event is organising and helping to staff the Gutsbuster Run and walk around the perimeter fence of the Sanctuary. We have contributed to the Trees for Survival programme and provided a mobile water container for Civil Defence.

We make regular financial grants to services and activities like the community bus, to the Marsden Day Care Centre and to the sunshine grant to primary school principals to assist pupils in need of some financial support to take part in school activities.

We are constantly looking for new ways and opportunities to assist in improving the well being of our Karori community.
